Logan Square Neighborhood Family Session | In Home Family Session | Chicago Family Photographer | Heather Hackney Photography
I love neighborhood sessions. Following your family around the sidewalks you travel frequently is so much fun. Another bonus to neighborhood photo sessions is that we can also capture a few images in your home during the same session.
Lizzie wanted a session focused on her family’s connection and was hoping to include the grandparents and their pup, Nola in a few. I love Grandparents and dogs, so I of course was excited and encouraged them to tag along.
When I first arrived at Lizzie’s home, I knew we were going to be a great fit. Everyone was crowded in the kitchen, finishing their coffee and engaged in warm conversation. There was a little hustle and bustle finalizing outfits and deciding if we should begin outside before the rain came or stay indoors (thank you Jim for keeping an eye on the radar!). We decided to begin with the whole family outside around their Logan Square neighborhood, and end in home with just the immediate family in case the rain decided to show. I just love Logan Square - beautiful tree lined streets and a mix of industrial and classic Chicago homes. The trees and landscapes finally being in bloom added so much color and interest to this neighborhood family session.
During our session, Lizzie also gave me the most amazing compliment. She said when was searching for a photographer she basically wanted someone to be their “paparazzi” - someone to follow them around and capture them just how they are, and that she thought my portfolio was the exact example of what she was looking for. Photographing a family’s genuine connection is always an ultimate goal of mine. I want to show you how you loved, to help you remember the way your baby fit so snuggly in your arms. And to show you that even the simplest moments are filled with so much meaning.
Thank you Lizzie for entrusting me to capture you just as I see you - it was truly an honor.
